Andrew Amisola (born June 30, 1998) is an American music artist, filmmaker, writer, and game developer. He records and releases music under the stage name Andura, with a discography spanning R&B, soul, and hip-hop since 2017.
Born in Staten Island, New York and raised in Colonia, New Jersey, Amisola's work spans multiple creative disciplines — music production, short film direction, creative non-fiction writing, and indie game development.
Amisola began his career interning at SiriusXM on Eminem's SHADE 45 channel. He has attended the GRAMMY Awards and is currently employed at Disney Entertainment.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Business from Rowan University and a Music Industry Essentials certificate from NYU. He is currently pursuing an MBA at Kean University.
Music
Under the stage name Andura, Amisola has released music since 2017. His sound blends R&B, soul, and hip-hop, drawing from artists like The Weeknd, Frank Ocean, and Drake. He writes, produces, and engineers all of his own music.
His debut project, the ANDURA mixtape (2017), was followed by Always A Pleasure EP (2018) and Before Long (2019). The compilation Legacy (2022) collected remastered tracks from his early catalog.
His first full-length album, Have Fun Be Safe (2023), expanded his production into more experimental territory. His second album, Might As Well've Been You (2025), is a 13-track project chronicling a relationship — songs written about one person that came to fit another just as well. The New York Minute EP (2025) followed later that year.
His track "Fire in Your Eyes" (2022) was later featured as the original soundtrack for his game Wordy Weapon. His music is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms.
Film
Amisola has directed, shot, and edited short films and cinematic pieces since 2024. His work spans documentary, travel, and personal filmmaking, often exploring themes of place, memory, and human connection. He shoots primarily on Fujifilm cameras in 6K Open Gate format.
Notable works include No More What Ifs (2025), a black-and-white meditation on the Amalfi Coast; December Blue (2025), a winter portrait of New Jersey and the New York skyline; and the Euro Summer series documenting travels across the Mediterranean. His films have been released on YouTube and featured across this archive.
Writing
Amisola writes creative non-fiction and memoir, with a focus on literary prose that weaves place, memory, and emotional experience.
His primary work is By the Long Island Sound, a serialized memoir currently in progress. The book is a love story told from the perspective of the Long Island Sound — the water serving as narrator, witnessing everything and remembering it clearly. The story unfolds across New York City landmarks including Grand Central Terminal, Angelina Paris, the Guggenheim, Central Park, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Chapters are being released serially on this site.
Games
Wordy Weapon (2025) is Amisola's debut commercial game, released on Steam for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The game is a word-crafting roguelike where players forge weapons from words, combining deck-building mechanics with vocabulary-based gameplay. It features an original soundtrack composed by Amisola under his Andura alias.
