A Christmas at Disney
Cinematic Short
CIN-002
After a month of visiting friends and family in Florida, one day alone. The Living with the Land ride at EPCOT becomes the Glimmering Greenhouses—snowmen and string lights reflecting on dark water, blue and amber bokeh framing solitary moments among the plants. Later, Coronado Springs at night: a towering Christmas tree, warm lobby windows, and a crescent moon over still water.
The ride begins in darkness and light. A greenhouse transformed for the holidays—snowmen and string lights reflecting on dark water, everything glowing teal and gold and impossibly festive. The boat drifts forward past holiday displays, past star-shaped lights and twinkling decorations that blur soft in the background. A figure appears among the plants, surrounded by warm lights and lush greenery, alone but not lonely. The colors shift as the ride continues—blues giving way to reds, the palette moving through something almost neon. Then the resort, later that night. A towering Christmas tree stands alone against the dark sky, multicolored lights climbing toward an angel at the top. Arched windows glow with more trees and wreaths inside, silhouettes passing through the warm lobby light. Someone stands before the brightest tree, framed by the window like a painting. The day ends quietly: a crescent moon hanging above the waterfront, warm reflections rippling across still water, the kind of peace that only comes from being alone in a beautiful place.
I was in Florida for basically the entire month of November, seeing friends and family at Disney week by week. By the end of it, I had one day to spend on my own, so I stayed at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and went to EPCOT to see the Glimmering Greenhouses—the Living with the Land ride.
