Halloween in Chicago. The night starts somewhere in the city, costumes half-on, energy building. Then Tunnel, the River North lounge hidden above Old Crow Smokehouse, its nondescript entrance on Kinzie Street opening to a covered staircase and a world of color-changing lights and bass. The function is in full swing. Friends move through the crowd, the video wall flickers behind them, and the night unfolds the way these nights do, in flashes, in moments caught between songs.
