Night at the Met
Cinematic Short
CIN-006

The Met after dark. The Beaux-Arts facade glows against the night as visitors climb the grand steps beneath exhibition banners. Inside, warm amber light fills the American Wing—conversations unfold among classical sculptures, silhouettes pause before Tiffany's luminous landscapes. The evening ends with cocktails, then the quiet platform at Rahway, heading home.
The evening starts outside, where the museum's grand facade glows against the night sky, fountains catching the light, exhibition banners flanking the entrance like sentinels. But first, a detour—a halal cart on the corner, its warm yellow glow cutting through the dark, silhouettes gathered around for a quick bite before the main event. Then the grand staircase, visitors ascending under amber light, the steps themselves becoming part of the experience. Inside, the sculptures wait. Two figures stand in conversation among classical statues, bronze and sepia tones everywhere, the huntress Diana watching from somewhere behind them. Deeper in, a woman photographs something near a stained glass window—one of those luminous landscape pieces that seems to glow from within. The museum portion ends with cocktails somewhere nearby, candlelight flickering in textured glassware, the warmth of the evening settling in. And then the journey home: a train station platform in New Jersey, brick and iron, a solitary figure waiting under the lights, the night winding down.
A night out with a friend exploring the Metropolitan Museum of Art during evening hours.
