Creator's Notes
The irony at the heart of this song is watching someone give their new person the energy you once asked for. She reaches out, then retreats, making 'better judgment calls' now that she has him, treating me like a stranger. The outro shifts tone: despite the frustration, I acknowledge that what we had felt deeper than romance, and part of me wishes we could salvage a friendship from it. But there's also a critical edge. If you're going to move on, at least raise your standards.
[intro]
Andura
[chorus]
Beloved, it's something that you're setting boundaries (ayy, ayy)
Cause where was that when you first found me?
I made you royalty but claimed the wrong king
Eek
OK girl, I know the old you would fold to (alright)
Who could even get a hold of you, I know you
And since you're gone, you're doing everything I told you
So tell me why you brand new
Brand new on me
[verse]
Hit you the first time in weeks (ayy)
Block him and call me is crazy work
But I was still open to speak
Sharing our feelings and empty words
But still, that for you was a feat
Oh, now you loyal cause I taught you how to be
Ayy
[bridge]
If I was insecure, then what is he?
If we cannot be friends, we're enemies
So don't expect to heal in 6 to 7 weeks
Cause you switch up on me whenever you please
Oh my
[chorus]
Beloved, it's something that you're setting boundaries (ayy, ayy)

Who could even get a hold of you, I know you
And since you're gone, you're doing everything I told you
So tell me why you brand new

[outro]
Mi amor, I found your kinks and more
In return, exploited all the chinks in my armor
Tell me, what is love to you when easily enamored?
Now I'm the only one I'd ever do anything for, ayy
But you was more than that to me
So I wish we could we could be friends
No stranger to women, I can give that love back to them
But the spark that we once had
It never even "came & went"
You looking for validation?
Get it from better men
Cause you letting the JVs put on the Letterman
